Stalker

Stalkers are transcendent rogues that deepen the class into a control-and-copy specialist built around preserved stolen skills, full stripping, stealth scouting, and flexible dagger or bow play.

Transcendent Class GuidesStalker
Stalker

Stalker is the transcendent continuation of RogueRogue, keeping the class's copied-skill, stripping, and stealth identity while adding four upper-class tools: PreservePreserve, Full StripFull Strip, Reject SwordReject Sword, and Chase WalkChase Walk.

Older Stalker references still use some different naming: they talk about copied skills through Intimidate, and they label two of the new skills as Counter Instinct and Stealth. On AoY, those roles show up through PlagiarismPlagiarism plus PreservePreserve, alongside Reject SwordReject Sword and Chase WalkChase Walk.

AoY's inherited Rogue and Thief changes matter just as much as the trans skills. Live Back StabBack Stab is explicitly marked as an AoY-exclusive behavior change, teleporting from all directions and applying Double AttackDouble Attack. AoY also lets Double AttackDouble Attack crit, so the dagger route gains even more from that inherited interaction, and the server still allows equipment with Random Options to be stolen from regular monsters through the Rogue farming kit. That makes Stalker much more than a WoE-only sidegrade.

Builds

The current iRO Stalker page does not print full stat templates the way some other trans guides do. Instead, it points players toward Rogue leveling and later Shadow Chaser planning. On AoY, that still resolves into three practical Stalker routes: a dagger Back Stab core, a copied-skill bow control route, and a high-DEX Full Strip utility path.

Dagger Back Stab / Preserve

Back Stab

This is the most practical all-purpose Stalker route on AoY because it gets the most out of the inherited Rogue changes. Back StabBack Stab now teleports from all directions and applies Double AttackDouble Attack here, while dagger use still triggers the skill's double-hit behavior from the live tooltip. AoY's Thief-line change that lets Double AttackDouble Attack crit pushes that interaction even harder. That makes the class feel far more fluid than older pre-renewal Stalker descriptions suggest.

The iRO overview also notes that copied Bowling BashBowling Bash is one of the most popular Stalker choices. On AoY, this route is the cleanest home for that copied-skill style because dagger or one-handed weapon setups transition more naturally between copied melee skills and Back Stab pressure.

Bow Stalker / Preserved Copy

Preserve

The iRO page's weapon list clearly leaves room for a bow Stalker, and its overview specifically calls out copied low-level Storm GustStorm Gust as a common control option. This route plays around that idea: use high DEX and safer range to keep control copies locked with PreservePreserve, then pressure from range while strips and copied utility do the heavy lifting.

This path is safer than pure dagger Stalker in PvM, but it gives up a lot of direct value from AoY's custom Back Stab behavior because the live tooltip halves Back Stab damage when you use a bow. Pick it when your copied skill matters more than your native dagger burst.

Full Strip / WoE Utility

Full Strip

This is the most direct translation of the iRO Stalker overview because the source page is very explicit that Stalker shines in PvP and WoE through improved intimidation and stripping. Full StripFull Strip is the endgame utility button for that identity, and copied low-level control skills become much nastier once the target is already stripped.

It is not the easiest solo build, but it is the version of Stalker that most closely matches why the class has a reputation at all. If your main interest is guild play, this is the one to build around.

Tactics

FocusHow To Play It
Preserve Your CopyThe current iRO page still phrases copied-skill play through older IntimidateIntimidate wording, but AoY's live version is unambiguous: PreservePreserve locks the last skill copied through PlagiarismPlagiarism for 10 minutes. Cast it as soon as you secure the skill you want.
Back Stab WindowsBack StabBack Stab is the most important inherited AoY change for Stalker. It now teleports from all directions and applies Double AttackDouble Attack, so dagger Stalkers no longer need perfect rear-only setup to get value. Because AoY also allows Double Attack to crit, the dagger route gets even more payoff from crit-friendly gear than older Stalker writeups imply. The live tooltip also says dagger damage occurs twice, while bow damage is reduced by half.
Copy SelectionThe current iRO overview specifically calls out copied Bowling BashBowling Bash and low-level Storm GustStorm Gust as preferred Stalker copies. The practical AoY rule is simple: copy a skill your weapon and statline can actually support, then use PreservePreserve immediately so you do not lose it by accident.
Full Strip PressureFull StripFull Strip casts all four strip skills at once, and AoY's live tooltip says its success rate increases when your DEX is higher than the target's. That makes high-DEX Stalker gearing and stat spreads especially important if you care about WoE relevance.
Chase Walk ScoutingChase WalkChase Walk is the live AoY name for the iRO page's Stealth. It avoids detection skills, but it still leaves footprints and remains vulnerable to ground-targeted attacks. It is also ineffective against Insect, Demon, and Boss monsters, and WoE multiplies its SP cost by five, so treat it as a scouting and repositioning tool instead of a free invisibility button.
Reject Sword DuelsReject SwordReject Sword is AoY's name for Counter Instinct. It halves incoming sword damage when it procs, and on monsters the deflected damage is reflected back to them. Use it proactively against sword users rather than waiting until you are already behind.
Rogue Farming CarryoverStalker does not lose the Rogue branch's economy tools. SnatcherSnatcher, Steal CoinSteal Coin, and AoY's rule that Random Option gear can be stolen from regular monsters still make the class a real solo farmer, not just a PvP specialist.

Skills

The current iRO Stalker page only lists the four transcendent additions and expects you to already understand the Rogue toolkit. That split still works, but the naming translation matters here more than usual: iRO's Counter Instinct is AoY's Reject Sword, Stealth is AoY's Chase Walk, and the copied-skill discussion that older pages phrase through Intimidate now sits much more clearly on AoY as Plagiarism plus Preserve. The inherited AoY Back Stab change is so important to Stalker that it belongs in the core skill list too.

IconSkillMax LevelDescription
Back StabInherited Core10AoY marks this as an exclusive Rogue-line behavior change. It teleports behind the enemy from all directions, applies Double Attack here, deals half damage with bows, and hits twice with daggers. Because AoY also lets Double Attack crit, this inherited melee core scales better with dagger gear than older iRO-era Stalker descriptions suggest.
PlagiarismInherited Copy10This is the real copied-skill foundation on AoY. It stores the last player skill used on you, lets you reuse it up to the copied level limit, and also grants Attack Speed per skill level. Preserve is only good because Plagiarism is already online.
Double AttackInherited Thief Core10AoY's Thief-line changes allow Double Attack to crit. That matters much more on Stalker than it first appears, because the server's custom Back Stab behavior explicitly applies Double Attack, making dagger burst and crit scaling interact better than older guides imply.
PreserveSupport1The defining Stalker utility skill. It prevents automatic recopying through Plagiarism for 10 minutes so you can hold onto the exact skill you wanted instead of losing it the next time something hits you.
Full StripControl5AoY's live name for the iRO page's Full Divestment. It fires all four strip effects at once, and the success chance improves when your DEX is higher than the target's, which is why high-DEX Stalkers are so feared in guild play.
Reject SwordDefense5AoY's name for Counter Instinct. It reduces incoming sword damage by half when it procs, can deflect up to three attacks, and reflects that damage back at monsters, making it one of the class's best specialist anti-melee tools.
Chase WalkStealth5The live AoY name for the older Stealth label. It upgrades the Hiding branch into a faster scouting state that avoids detection skills, but it still leaves footprints, takes ground-skill damage, and has special limits against several monster races and during WoE.

Equipment

The current iRO Stalker page uses the same three equipment planning layers as the other transcendent guides: reuse Eden GroupEden Group Equipments Quests gear if it still works, lean on the broader Equipment article for general PvM staples, and look toward later Shadow Chaser-style priorities instead of overspending on short-lived midgame upgrades.

AoY does not currently have a dedicated local Shadow Chaser Equipment article or a direct third-class route, so the clean translation is to preserve the iRO gearing logic while confirming actual server behavior on AoY's live item pages. The source page is straightforward: decide whether you are truly a bow Stalker or a dagger Stalker first, then gear around that weapon identity.

CategoryRecommendations
Planning ArticlesEden Group Equipment QuestsEden Group Equipments Quests are still the safest baseline, while the iRO Equipment and Shadow Chaser Equipment pages remain useful planning references even though AoY does not mirror that progression literally.
WeaponsThe current iRO Stalker page splits very cleanly between bow and dagger priorities: Gakkung Bow [2]Gakkung Bow [2] with Skeleton Worker CardSkeleton Worker Card, Orc Archer BowOrc Archer Bow with Steel ArrowSteel Arrow, Main Gauche [4]Main Gauche [4] with Drops CardDrops Card four times, and Ice PickIce Pick. Use bow sets when your copied skill or safety matters more than Back Stab, and dagger sets when you want the strongest payoff from AoY's Back Stab changes.
HeadgearThe iRO headgear shortlist is Chick HatChick Hat, Rideword Hat [1]Rideword Hat [1], Fish in MouthFish in Mouth, and Apple of ArcherApple of Archer. That still maps well on AoY: Chick Hat is an easy offensive bridge, Apple of Archer stays clean for bow statlines, and the sustain hats help long solo sessions.
ArmorThe source page keeps armor simple with Thief Clothes [1]Thief Clothes [1] carded by either Peco Peco CardPeco Peco Card for raw HP or Porcellio CardPorcellio Card for offensive pressure. That same choice still makes sense on AoY: sturdier Stalkers are safer in strip range, while more aggressive ones capitalize better on copied offense.
Garment And ShoesThe iRO garment and shoe package is Wool Scarf [1]Wool Scarf [1] with Raydric CardRaydric Card, Tidal Shoes [1]Tidal Shoes [1] with either Matyr CardMatyr Card or Green Ferus CardGreen Ferus Card, plus ShacklesShackles as part of the Shackle Ball setup. These are still very normal, practical Rogue-line defensive pieces on AoY.
AccessoriesThe current iRO list uses Rogue's TreasureRogue's Treasure, Orleans's Glove [1]Orleans's Glove [1] with Zerom CardZerom Card, Bloodied Shackle BallBloodied Shackle Ball, Ring Of Flame LordRing Of Flame Lord, and Ring Of ResonanceRing Of Resonance. Rogue's Treasure stays thematically perfect for the branch, while Orleans's Glove is the easiest stat-threshold choice for copied-skill and strip builds that need more DEX.
ShieldsThe shield list is Buckler [1]Buckler [1], Stone Buckler [1]Stone Buckler [1], and Valkyrja's ShieldValkyrja's Shield. These only matter for dagger or one-handed-copy Stalkers, because bow Stalkers obviously give up shield access in exchange for range.

Leveling

Level RangeLocationNotes
80-90The current iRO page says Stalker leveling is still very similar to Rogue, just with a few new skill additions. That makes AlarmAlarm and related Clock Tower targets a clean carryover map while you decide whether your copied skill and weapon route will be dagger- or bow-based.
85-99WraithWraith and Evil DruidEvil Druid are still solid late solo targets while your Stalker build matures. Dagger routes can lean on AoY Back Stab here, while copied-skill routes can preserve a utility or control skill for safer farming.
90+
Party PlayParty And Guild Content
The iRO page is very clear that Stalker's reputation comes more from PvP and WoE than pure PvM. Once your core farming is stable, practice preserving a copied skill, landing strips under pressure, and using Chase WalkChase Walk correctly, because that is where Stalker starts feeling distinct from Rogue.

Job Change

On official iRO, Stalker sits behind the rebirth-era route through Juno and Valhalla after your transcendent first-class Thief reaches Job Level 50. On Age of Ymir, that whole chain is replaced by a direct transcendent promotion once your Rogue reaches Base Level 80 and Job Level 50.

RouteWhere It StartsWhat Changes On AoY
Official iRO FlowThe current iRO guide sends players through Juno's StalkerBook of Ymir and Valhalla route before handing them to the old Stalker NPC.Use the iRO page for Stalker identity, gear logic, and preferred copied-skill roles, but not for the literal job-change route on this server.
EzekielAoY Job ChangerDirect Stalker advancement through Job ChangerEzekiel, with AoY's normal convenience route for transcendent classes.AoY's Job Changer page states that transcendent changes require Base Level 80 and Job Level 50, with no rebirth chain. Spend your Rogue points first and make sure your copied-skill plan is ready before promoting.

Recommendation

  • Use the AoY Job Changer for the actual Stalker progression path on this server.
  • Decide before promoting whether your real endgame plan is dagger Back Stab, copied-skill bow play, or high-DEX Full Strip utility.
  • Do not ignore Rogue-side farming tools just because Stalker is famous for WoE. They still matter on AoY.
