Vanilla Changes

Age of Ymir organizes item changes through live database categories. Ymirverse marks AoY-exclusive content, while Omniverse marks official Ragnarok content that currently serves as a baseline and may be customized in future AoY updates.

How AoY Handles Item Categories

Vanilla items are not always left untouched on Age of Ymir. The first thing to check is the item category: Ymirverse means AoY-exclusive content, while Omniverse means official Ragnarok content with future AoY customization planned. Other database groups then describe specific balance work such as global drops, refinement materials, modified gear, and adjusted loots.

Database Shortcuts

Each link below opens a curated item group in the live AoY database. Ymirverse and Omniverse are the primary source labels, followed by Artifacts and Modified Gear; the remaining groups help you browse specific change types such as global drops, refinement materials, and adjusted loot.

YmirverseAoY-exclusive item content created for Age of Ymir rather than official Ragnarok.Use this label to identify items, systems, and balance entries that belong specifically to AoY's custom content ecosystem.Open
OmniverseOfficial Ragnarok item content tracked in AoY as the official-source baseline.Use this label to separate official Ragnarok content from AoY-exclusive content. These items may receive AoY customization in future updates.Open
ArtifactsArtifacts are AoY equipment entries collected into a dedicated category. They are not limited to weapons; artifacts can include headgear, weapons, shields, armors, footgear, garments, and accessories.Open
Modified GearModified gear is handled as one searchable equipment category instead of separate armor and weapon lists.Use the database filters to browse headgear, weapons, shields, armors, footgear, garments, and accessories from the same equipment search.Open
Global Item DropsSelected items are no longer tied to only one narrow source and can appear through broader server drop design.Useful for farming routes, market pricing, and knowing which formerly niche items are more accessible.Open
Refinement OresRefining materials are grouped into a more deliberate custom progression structure.Important for upgrade planning, refining costs, and understanding how AoY expects players to progress their gear.Open
Enchantment ScrollsCustom enchantment-related scrolls are grouped together for easier browsing and planning.Helpful when checking how AoY handles enchant progression, gear enhancement options, and scroll-based item customization.Open
Nerfed LootsSome vanilla loot values or utility have been reduced to better control inflation and item flow.Important for farming expectations, vendor routes, and understanding why some classic Zeny targets perform differently on AoY.Open

What Players Should Expect

Reading AoY Items Correctly

  • Ymirverse means the item is AoY-exclusive. Do not treat it as official Ragnarok behavior when comparing guides or databases.
  • Omniverse means the item comes from official Ragnarok content. Treat it as the current official baseline on AoY, with future customization planned.
  • If an item feels familiar from vanilla, always check its AoY database entry before assuming the stats, value, or purpose are unchanged.
  • Refinement and equipment progression are part of the server's broader custom balance, so upgrade materials and gear power are intentionally curated.
  • Some loots are adjusted downward to protect the economy, while other item groups are expanded to support smoother progression and build diversity.
  • Artifacts and Modified Gear are gear-wide categories, so check them for headgear, weapons, shields, armors, footgear, garments, and accessories when planning builds.
Best Practice:

Treat the live database as the final reference. This wiki page helps organize the major AoY item categories, but the item records themselves are where you should confirm exact effects, refine behavior, and current balancing.
