How the Grading System WorksThe Grading System lets you upgrade both normal equipment and shadow gear from grade [X] up to [A], boosting refine bonuses without risking destruction of your items. Normal gear uses Ymir's Hammers and Soul Upgrade Gems to push armor, accessories, and weapons up through the ranks—failure never breaks the item, only consumes gems. Shadow gear trades in duplicate shadow pieces plus Azurite or Blessed Aether Dust to increase grade; failures consume catalysts and dust, but never the main equipped piece.
Grading Overview
- Normal gear: Equipment to grade, Ymir's Hammer (Low / Medium / High grade), and Soul Upgrade Gems (Armor, Accessory, or Weapon to match item type). Failure never breaks the item—only consumes gems.
- Shadow gear: Duplicate shadow piece (same grade) plus Azurite or Blessed Aether Dust. Failure consumes catalysts and dust, but never the main equipped piece.
- Grades: Both systems advance items from [X] up through [D], [C], [B], and [A].

Shadow Gear Grading
![]() Shadow Gear OverviewAzurite Aether Dust / Blessed Aether Dust Shadow gear uses a separate grading flow: consume a duplicate of the same shadow piece at the same grade plus Azurite Aether Dust or Blessed Aether Dust. Failure consumes catalysts and dust only—never the equipped piece. How it works:
|
Requirements
- Azurite Aether Dust (46127) or Blessed Aether Dust (46128).
- A second copy of the same shadow gear at the same grade to act as a catalyst.
- Target gear and catalysts must be in your inventory.
Shadow Grading: Failing will not destroy the target shadow gear, only the catalysts and dust.
