Builds
This build fights in melee with daggers while using to exploit elements and to convert incoming normal hits into sustain. It is the lowest-investment route when you want to solo comfortably without fully committing to pure casting.
The build benefits from balanced STR and AGI, enough INT to keep your support cycle online, and enough DEX to stabilize HIT if you are not relying on critical dagger setups.
This is the direct caster route. The goal is to maximize damage while shortening cast time through high DEX. You open the three-second Esma window with , , or , then dump Esma casts as fast as possible.
This route wants outside SP support or heavy self-sustain from , potions, and SP-oriented equipment because it burns resources much faster than the battle path.
This route focuses on party utility instead of solo damage. The core tools are , , , and the class spirit lines that enhance Wizards, Priests, Sages, Assassins, Rogues, and other key party members.
You give up some PvM convenience, but the class becomes extremely valuable in organized content where targeted buffs and protection matter more than raw solo speed.
Skills
| Skill | Role | Why It Matters |
|---|---|---|
| SP Sustain | Raises Max SP and reduces the cost of your Es skills, which is critical for both caster and utility-focused Soul Linkers. | |
| Sustain | Converts normal incoming hits into healing at an SP cost, which is what makes battle linkers and some Esma routes much safer than they look on paper. | |
| Utility | Provides delayed revive support and is one of the defining defensive tools when you are supporting parties or difficult solo pushes. | |
| Magic Defense | Reflects targeted magic and is one of the main reasons support linkers are so disruptive in magic-heavy encounters. | |
| Avoidance | Gives a guaranteed dodge at max level and is one of the best panic tools available to the class. | |
| Control | Shrinks and slows monsters, making it useful for awkward pulls, reset control, and safer solo positioning. | |
| and | Esma Setup | These are your main Esma setup tools. They hit different monster sizes and open the three-second Esma cast window once maxed. |
| and | Debuff / Setup | Eske is a high-risk damage amplifier for monster targets, while Eska is the heavy-control counterpart when you want to stall or manipulate a fight. |
| Burst Damage | This is the class’s core single-target spell and the reason high-INT Soul Linkers can function as real damage dealers instead of pure support. | |
| Support Access | Lets another Soul Linker unlock broader Ka-skill targeting, which is important when parties want link utility distributed more freely. | |
| , , and | Core Party Links | These are some of the highest-impact class buffs in party content and define the support value of the class. |
| , , , and | Specialist Links | These become more important as your group composition narrows around specific damage dealers or utility classes. |
Equipment
| Category | Options | Why It Works |
|---|---|---|
| Beginner Progression | Eden gear remains the most practical low-cost entry point while you stabilize an Esma or support setup. | |
| Battle Weapons | and other carded daggers | Battle linkers still scale best from daggers, especially when you want to combine melee pressure with Mild Wind and Kaahi sustain. |
| Caster SP Setup | , , and | Esma-heavy play spends SP quickly, so Max SP and recovery items are much more important here than on most expanded classes. |
| Accessories | , , , and | These all help depending on whether you need pure SP support, safer casting, or more rounded stat value. |
| Base Gear Logic | Headgear, garment, armor, and many shared utility choices still overlap with the Taekwon foundation even though Soul Linker changes the combat role completely. | |
| Potions | , , and | Battle linkers can still take advantage of ASPD potions, which helps if you stay on the dagger route instead of pure casting. |
Leveling
| Level Range | Map | Monsters | Why It Works |
|---|---|---|---|
| 41-55 Quests | , , and | A practical bridge from Taekwon into the Soul Linker toolkit while you finish your first Spirit and Es priorities. | |
| 55-75 | Alarm remains a reliable magical leveling target once your Esma setup and SP cycle are stable. | ||
| 70-85 | and | Good caster transition map for Soul Linkers that have solid Esma rhythm and enough support or consumables to keep their SP under control. | |
| 85-99 | Anubis is still one of the cleaner late-game leveling targets when your magical burst and support cycle are already established. |
Job Change
| Route | What You Get | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Job change to Soul Linker | At Job Level 40 as , find the Kid in the tavern at . The quest consumes , , and . is a direct source for the heart if you do not want to buy it. | |
| Direct convenience job change | For expanded second-stage classes, the Job Master is the convenience route. It does not grant the first-job incentive bundle, but it handles the job change directly and grants quest/platinum skills automatically. See for the NPC system page. |
Progression Notes
- Battle linkers are easier to gear early, but Esma and support routes scale much better once your SP economy is solved.
- is one of the first skills that stabilizes the class, regardless of whether you lean battle, caster, or support.
- Your Ka skills have strict targeting rules unless another Soul Linker provides .
- If you are still learning the retained Taekwon tools, keep the Taekwon guide nearby because remains a core part of Soul Linker damage logic.
