Low Rank Hunts Overview
Often referred to as MH1 (The Flooded Forest), Low Rank Hunts are part of the Monster Hunter content and serve as the first challenge on your hunting journey. Loot from the beasts in the Flooded Forest can be used to craft 
Low Rank Shadow Gear or exchanged for 
Monster Coupons to purchase supplies and equipment.

Accessing Low Rank Hunts
- Board The Wyvern by:
- Using
@gomh - Talking to the Monster Hunter NPC in the Main Office
- Using the
Warper NPC > Special Areas > Monster Hunting
- Using
- Speak with the
Low Rank Agent to select a hunt. - Pay 25,000 Zeny or use a
Monster Hunter Ticket to enter the Flooded Forest.
Instance Mechanics
- Duration: 120 Minutes
- Cooldown: No cooldown period on boss hunts; repeatable
- Buffs & Debuffs: All buffs & debuffs are removed upon entry (except ASPD potions)
Elemental Rotation: Each week, the Low Rank Hunts instance will have a different dominant element, affecting:
- Fire | Water | Wind | Earth | Shadow | Holy
- The monsters and boss hunt will match the current week's element
- Use element-resistant gear to optimize your hunt!
Hunt Rules
- Monsters must be defeated before a great boss appears
- The MVP boss appears after 50 target monster kills for the active element.
- 10 monsters defeated: A warning announces that the boss will appear after the next 40 monsters.
- 50 monsters defeated: The MVP boss spawns near the hunting party.
- Important: Failing to clear all monsters means no MVP battle
Death Rules
- The party has 3 total lives for the hunt
- Disconnections count as deaths!
- 3rd death or disconnection = automatic hunt failure
- Resurrection is disabled inside the Flooded Forest
- Upon failure, all hunters are returned to The Wyvern
Restricted Map Rules
- Teleport, return, warp saving, memo, vending, public chat, dead branches, and Ice Wall are disabled inside the hunt map.
- The instance is party locked; outside players cannot enter another party's hunt.
- Experience gain is disabled for the hunt map, while monster drops remain available.
Quests & Rewards
- Choosing a Low Rank board assigns the matching repeatable hunt objectives for the current element.
- These objectives require you to defeat specific monsters inside and outside of the instance.
- Completion rewards are finalized automatically and sent by mail when the hunt is cleared.
- Monster Coupons and special materials are awarded for completion.
- Quests reset each week along with the elemental rotation
Tracking Progress
Hunters can use the @mhstatus command to check:
- MVP Spawn Progress
- Current Monster Kills
- Quest Completion Status
Note: Rewards are sent automatically after the hunt clears, so keep an eye on your mail after completion.

Visit the Hunter's Assistant for healing, equipment repair, and storage access.

Monster Hunter System
Before embarking on a hunt, players must first interact with the MH Role Manager to obtain their Role Relic.

Each week, Monster Hunter Bosses rotate across six elements along with specific monsters. Hunters must prepare for different elemental challenges and adjust their strategies accordingly!
Defeat the required monsters, face the 
Great Boss Hunt, and clear the hunt to receive automatic completion rewards.
- Objective: Defeat the target monster(s) within the time limit
- Loot System: Defeated monsters and bosses drop a mix of common as well as rare loot
- Exchanged for Monster Coupons at the back of The Wyvern via the Retired Hunter's Shop
- Used to craft Low Rank Shadow Gear, enhancing your hunting efficiency

The Shadow Blacksmith (Harek Ignison) can be located at the back of the airship (2009rwc_03 245, 194). Use materials from hunts to craft Shadow Gear and refine them at the Shadow Blacksmith.
The Shadow Master allows you to craft Shadow Runes and enchant your Shadow Equipment with them, unlocking powerful new abilities that scale with the Grade and refinement of your gear.
Repeatable Hunts
- Step 1: Select a desired MH Role from the Role Manager
- Step 2: Select the desired great hunt board via the Low Rank Hunts Agent
- Step 3: Eliminate the required monsters based on the weekly elemental cycle
- Step 4: Challenge the Great Monster Hunt, vanquish your foe and claim victory
Great hunt objectives are assigned when the permit is created. When the hunt is cleared, completion rewards are finalized automatically and sent by mail.
