Low Rank Hunts

Often referred to as MH1 (The Flooded Forest), Low Rank Hunts are part of the Monster Hunter content and serve as the first challenge on your hunting journey. Loot from the beasts in the Flooded Forest can be used to craft Low Rank Shadow Gear or exchanged for Monster Coupons to purchase supplies and equipment.

How to Access
  1. Board The Wyvern by:
    • Using @gomh
    • Talking to the Monster Hunter NPC in the Main Office
    • Using the Warper NPC > Special Areas > Monster Hunting
  2. Speak with the Low Rank Agent to select a hunt.
  3. Pay 50,000 Zeny or use a Monster Hunter Ticket to enter the Flooded Forest.

Instance Details
  • Duration: 120 Minutes
  • Cooldown: No cooldown period on boss hunts; repeatable
  • Buffs & Debuffs: All buffs & debuffs are removed upon entry (except ASPD potions)

Elemental Rotation: Each week, the Low Rank Hunts instance will have a different dominant element, affecting:

  • Fire | Water | Wind | Earth | Shadow | Holy
  • The monsters and boss hunt will match the current week's element
  • Use element-resistant gear to optimize your hunt!

Hunt Rules Hunt Rules

Hunt Mechanics
  • Monsters must be defeated before a great boss appears
  • The MVP boss will only spawn after a specific number of monsters are killed
  • 50 monsters remaining: A warning message appears
  • 0 monsters left: The MVP boss spawns nearby
  • Important: Failing to clear all monsters means no MVP battle

Death Rules Death Rules

Death Limitations
  • Maximum of 2 deaths allowed per hunt
  • Disconnections count as deaths!
  • 3rd Death = Automatic Hunt Failure
  • Resurrection is disabled inside the Flooded Forest
  • Upon failure, all hunters are returned to The Wyvern

Quest System
  • Before entering the instance, hunters can accept repeatable quests from the Low Rank Hunts Agent
  • These quests require you to defeat specific monsters inside and outside of the instance
  • Turn in completed quests to the same Low Rank Hunts Agent to receive rewards
  • Monster Coupons & special materials are awarded for completion
  • Quests reset each week along with the elemental rotation

Role Manager Requirement

Before embarking on a hunt, players must first interact with the MH Role Manager to obtain their Role Relic.

  • Requirement for Low Rank Hunts: At least one role relic from the MH Role Manager
  • Location: The Role Manager can be located at The Wyvern (2009rwc_03 162, 196)
Weekly Elemental Boss Rotations

Each week, Monster Hunter Bosses rotate across six elements along with specific monsters. Hunters must prepare for different elemental challenges and adjust their strategies accordingly!

Defeat the required monsters, face the Great Boss Hunt, and turn in your quests for special rewards!

Shadow Blacksmith

The Shadow Blacksmith (Harek Ignison) can be located at the back of the airship (2009rwc_03 245, 194). Use materials from hunts to craft Shadow Gear and refine them at the Shadow Blacksmith.

The Shadow Master allows you to craft Shadow Runes and enchant your Shadow Equipment with them, unlocking powerful new abilities that scale with the Grade and refinement of your gear.

Important Reminder:
  1. Step 1: Select a desired MH Role from the Role Manager
  2. Step 2: Pick up desired quest(s) for great hunts via the Low Rank Hunts Agent
  3. Step 3: Eliminate the required monsters based on the weekly elemental cycle
  4. Step 4: Challenge the Great Monster Hunt, vanquish your foe and claim victory
