Sunken Rift
Age of Ymir · Systems

Sunken Rift

A sunken ship where a band of pirates obtained the dark sword Mysteltainn from the depths of the sea. When light touched the sword, it turned everyone into undead and humanity’s extinction came to pass. Ymir instructs parties to find 7 pieces of Mysteltainn scattered aboard. Collecting pieces unlocks the path to four Corsair bosses (Ironwave, Galewind, Crowe, then the leader Drakemoor). When Drakemoor falls to half health, the entity inside the sword—Umbragor—takes over; defeat this Worldbreaker to complete the instance.

Sunken Rift Map
Step 1 - Enter the Rift
Form a party (or create one solo). Entrance is via an Echo Rift Stone—see Rift Access. Select Sunken Rift from the zone options. Difficulty is assigned automatically. Only the party leader can initiate. You must be at least level 90. Enter the instance when ready. Ymir announces: you must find 7 pieces of the dark sword Mysteltainn; on this universe pirates obtained it from the depths of the sea, and when light touched the sword it turned everyone into undead, leading to humanity’s extinction.
Step 2 - Collect Mysteltainn Pieces (2 → Boss 1)
Explore the ship via warps. When you find a Mysteltainn Piece, interact and choose Get the piece. Only the party leader can take it; if a non-leader tries, they receive a message and a poison debuff. Taking a piece applies a random debuff (e.g. Enervation, Laziness, Unlucky, Poison, Strip Accessory) for a duration, a short progress bar (scaled by difficulty), then the announcement: “A part of Mysteltainn was obtained!” When you have 2 pieces, Corsair Ironwave (mob 30110) spawns. Ymir warns: “Beware of his Lightning Bolts!” Defeat him at (68, 49); after death, new warps open to reach more pieces.
Step 3 - Collect 2 More Pieces → Corsair Galewind
Collect two more Mysteltainn pieces (total 4). When the fourth is obtained, Corsair Galewind (mob 30109) spawns. Ymir announces: “Beware of his gun, Icelock!” A viewpoint marks the boss (68, 155). Defeat Galewind; more warps open to the next area.
Step 4 - Collect 2 More Pieces → Corsair Crowe
Collect two more pieces (total 6). When the sixth is obtained, Corsair Crowe (mob 30108) spawns. Ymir announces: “Beware of his deadly flames!” Defeat Crowe at (68, 155); warps to the final area open.
Step 5 - Collect 7th Piece → Corsair Drakemoor
Collect the seventh Mysteltainn piece. Corsair Drakemoor (mob 30107)—the pirate leader who held Mysteltainn—spawns at (164, 59). Ymir announces: “I detect the pirate leader, the one that held Mysteltainn, Corsair Drakemoor!” He uses fists and dark attacks. When his HP drops to 50% or below, he becomes damage immune, warps to the center, and says “Time to use Mysteltainn!” After a short sequence he says the sword is not obeying him; then Umbragor announces: “You think you can use my powers, Drakemoor? Here let me use you instead!” Drakemoor is killed and the real boss spawns.
Step 6 - Defeat Umbragor (Worldbreaker)
Umbragor (mob 30106)—the entity inside Mysteltainn—appears at (164, 59). Ymir announces: “It’s Umbragor, the entity inside Mysteltainn on this universe!” and “Beware of his absolute dark magic! My temporal and spatial magic is blocked!” Defeat Umbragor to complete the instance. Ymir then says the Worldbreaker is dead, that they cannot undo the undead but have avenged them, and hopes their souls are at peace in Valhalla. Ymir’s Projection appears—talk to her to stay and explore or choose Let’s go! to warp back to Aurelia (192, 153).

Chronocite Party Rewards

Sunken Rift is boss-centric. On boss defeat, rewards come from two layers:

  • Completion rewards (per character): everyone online and on the instance map receives guaranteed Chronocites and gets completion roll chances (e.g. Entropy Codex / Blacksmith Blessing).

  • Boss corpse drops (party loot): the boss spawns a corpse drop at its location with many independent Paradox Shard rolls (including bundles), making Paradox Shards a primary reward in this rift. Some corpse rolls are influenced by difficulty, so higher tiers can increase shard outcomes.

For the global reward rules that apply across all Pulse Rifts, see Rift Rewards.

Strategy Tips

Tips & Strategies
  • Only the party leader should take Mysteltainn pieces to avoid poison and failed attempts.
  • Each piece applies a random debuff (Enervation, Laziness, Unlucky, Poison, Strip Accessory)—have cleanses or accept the debuff and plan around it.
  • Corsair bosses use cone-style attacks (Lightning, Ice, Fire) and dark magic; spread out or position to avoid overlapping damage.
  • During Drakemoor’s 50% phase he is damage immune; wait for Umbragor to take over, then focus the Worldbreaker.
