Deepsea Rift
Age of Ymir · Systems

Deepsea Rift

An undersea cave near the waters of Veins, where the magical flames of Thor Volcano have altered the sea creatures. Ymir instructs parties to close 4 deep sea geysers to prevent those flames from going out. Killing Burntide creatures builds a Rage Counter (max 10); each geyser requires 10 Rage to seal. Once all four are closed, the Worldbreaker Pyrocanth appears—a huge fish blessed by the flames. During the fight, Pyrocanth spawns seaweeds that it feasts on to recover HP; clear them to limit healing.

Echo Rift Stone
How to enter

Deepsea Rift is a Minor Pulse Rift. Entry is made by using an Echo Rift Stone—the stone opens a random Minor Pulse Rift, which may be this instance.

  • Only the party leader can use the stone successfully.
  • Solo players must still create a party before using the stone.
  • Only party members present when the stone is used will have the instance created for them.

Rift Stones drop from monsters globally; see Obtaining Rift Stones for drop rates.

Instance Overview

Close 4 deep sea geysers by building Rage Counter to 10 (by killing Burntide mobs); each geyser consumes 10 Rage and spawns more Piranha. When all four are sealed, the Worldbreaker Pyrocanth (mob 30105) appears at the viewpoint. Pyrocanth spawns seaweeds (mob 2331) at lower HP; every ~65 seconds it feasts on remaining seaweeds and recovers 9,999 HP per seaweed. Clear seaweeds to limit healing.

Deepsea Rift Map
Step 1 - Enter the Rift
Form a party (or create one solo). Entrance is via an Echo Rift Stone—see Rift Access. Select Deepsea Rift from the zone options. Difficulty is assigned automatically. Only the party leader can initiate. You must be at least level 90. Enter the instance when ready. Ymir announces that you are in an undersea cave near the waters of Veins; you must close 4 deep sea geysers to prevent the magical flames of Thor Volcano from going out, and to be careful of sea creatures adapted to the flames.
Step 2 - Build Rage Counter (optional: Soldier’s Journal)
Kill Burntide Marc, Burntide Phen, Burntide Piranha, and Burntide Swordfish (mobs 30101–30104). Each kill increases the Rage Counter (capped at 10). Ymir announces: “It seems that their flames of anger increase every time you kill! Now at X.” You need at least 10 Rage to close each geyser. Optionally, talk to the Soldier’s Corpse and choose “Fine” to read the journal—it reveals that when one creature dies, the rest grow more enraged, and it marks the four geyser locations with viewpoints (red).
Step 3 - Close the Four Geysers
Each geyser is a clickable spot that only the party leader can use. If Rage is below 10, the message says: “This needs at least 10 Rage Counter to close…” When you have 10+ Rage, interact with a geyser: Rage resets to 0, a short progress bar runs (duration scales by difficulty), and 6 Burntide Piranha spawn in the geyser area. The map announces: “Geyser trapped on this hole has been removed. Raging flames of the monsters have become dimmer.” Repeat until all 4 geysers are closed (four different locations across the map).
Step 4 - Pyrocanth (Worldbreaker) Appears
When the fourth geyser is sealed, Ymir announces: “Adventurer, I detect a huge fish blessed by the flames! A Worldbreaker!” A viewpoint marks the boss location (231, 213). All monsters are cleared and Pyrocanth (mob 30105) spawns. The boss says: “We were at peace under the sea! You humans have burned us!” Engage Pyrocanth at the marked spot.
Step 5 - Seaweeds & Pyrocanth’s Feast
As Pyrocanth’s HP drops, it spawns seaweeds (mob 2331) around itself—more at lower HP (e.g. 1 at 80%, 2 at 50%, 3 at 30%, 5 at 0% phase). Approximately every 65 seconds, Pyrocanth feasts on all remaining seaweeds: they are removed, and Ymir announces how many seaweeds it ate and how much HP it recovered (9,999 HP per seaweed). The boss says: “These seaweeds are blessed by the flames!” Clear seaweeds before the feast timer to minimize healing.
Step 6 - Defeat Pyrocanth
Defeat Pyrocanth to complete the instance. Ymir announces: “We have avenged those who perished in this universe!” Ymir’s Projection appears—talk to her to stay and explore or choose Let’s go! to warp back to Aurelia (192, 153).

Chronocite Party Rewards

Rewards in this rift come from two layers:

  • Completion rewards (per character): party members online and on the instance map receive guaranteed Chronocites and get completion roll chances (Entropy Codex / Blacksmith Blessing).

  • Rift boss drops: Paradox Shards can drop via two independent rolls:

    • Bundle roll (5× Paradox Shard): 0.2% for the killer; 0.1% for other party members.
    • Single roll (1× Paradox Shard): 1% / 3% / 5% / 7.5% / 10% (Easy → Torment). On Torment, party sharing is enabled at 50% of the killer chance.

For the global reward rules that apply across all Pulse Rifts, see Rift Rewards.

Strategy Tips

Tips & Strategies
  • Assign one or two players to clear seaweeds during the Pyrocanth fight so the boss recovers less HP each feast.
  • Build Rage to 10, then close one geyser; repeat. Avoid closing a geyser with less than 10 Rage (the leader will get a message and nothing happens).
  • Reading the Soldier’s Corpse journal once gives viewpoint markers for all four geyser locations—useful on first runs.
  • When closing a geyser, 6 Burntide Piranha spawn nearby; be ready to handle them or kite until Rage is built again for the next geyser.
