Blight Culvert

Delve into the grotesque ritual of a mutated Golden Thief Bug, threatening the inhabitants near Prontera. This dream entity governs the foul sewers and, if left unchecked, could render the real GTB in our world immortal. To summon the boss, parties must destroy all Blight Bug Eggs (count scales by difficulty: 3 Easy → 12 Torment). There’s a 1 in 4 chance that Worldbreaker Bug Clones (3×) will spawn; seek and destroy the Prime Blighted Egg to kill all clones. During the boss fight, keep Rift Essence (eggs) below 10 or the Worldbreaker gains a permanent shield.

Instance Overview

Ymir instructs you to destroy all Blight Bug Eggs of the Worldbreaker (count varies by difficulty: 3 Easy, 5 Veteran, 7 Nightmare, 9 Hell, 12 Torment). They were the cause of humanity’s extinction in this universe. A 1 in 4 chance spawns 3 Worldbreaker Bug Clones and a Prime Blighted Egg—destroy the egg to kill all clones. Once all eggs are cleared, the Worldbreaker Bug appears at the center; you have 25 seconds to enter the battle zone before poison gates seal the area.

Blight Culvert Map
Step 1 - Enter the Rift
Form a party (or create one solo). Entrance to the rift is conjured via an Echo Rift Stone—for more information, see Rift Access. Select Blight Culvert from the zone options. Difficulty is assigned automatically; each difficulty increases monster stats and rewards. Only the party leader can initiate. You must be at least level 90. Enter the instance when ready.
Step 2 - Destroy Blight Bug Eggs
Ymir’s Voice announces that you must destroy all Blight Bug Eggs of the Worldbreaker (the number depends on difficulty: 3 Easy, 5 Veteran, 7 Nightmare, 9 Hell, 12 Torment). They look like eggs and were the cause of humanity’s extinction in this universe. Hunt the eggs across the map; when you kill one, it spawns 1–2 Blighted Bug (Blight Wild Bug, mob 30004). The area also has elite rift mobs: Blight Ice Bug, Blight Fire Bug, Blight Filth Bug, and Blight Wild Bug. Normal culvert mobs (e.g. Familiar, Tarou, Spore, Plankton) may also appear. Ymir reports remaining egg count as you clear them.
Step 3 - Worldbreaker Bug Clones (1 in 4 chance)
There’s a 1 in 4 chance at the start that Ymir will warn: the Worldbreaker has already multiplied, and weaker Worldbreaker Bug Clones (mob 30006, 3×) will roam alongside the eggs. A Prime Blighted Egg (30002) also appears—Ymir says to destroy it to destroy all clones. When you kill the Prime Blighted Egg, Ymir announces: “We have killed the Blighted Rift Egg! All Worldbreaker clones are dead!” Viewpoints mark the clone and egg locations.
Step 4 - Worldbreaker Bug Arrives
Once all Blight Bug Eggs are destroyed, Ymir uses spatial prowess to confirm they’re gone, then warns the Worldbreaker will come at the center. A viewpoint marks the center. The Worldbreaker Bug (30000) spawns there. Ymir announces: you have 25 seconds to enter the battle zone. After that, Poison Mist gates (Blight mob 2536) seal the area. Enter before the gates close to engage the boss.
Step 5 - Rift Essence & Boss Shield
During the boss fight, Rift Essence (mob 30002) spawn near the Worldbreaker. The game shows “Number of Rift Essence present: X”. If the count reaches 10, the boss gains a permanent protective shield (greatly increased ATK, DEF, MDEF, HIT, FLEE) for the rest of the fight—Ymir announces: “The Worldbreaker now has a protective shield made from the rift itself…” Assign a dedicated player to clear Rift Essence so the count never hits 10.
Step 6 - Poison Mists & Boss Healing
More Rift Essence on the field causes more Poison Mist (Blight, mob 2536) spawns that constrict the arena. The boss uses Highness Heal at higher strength as Rift Essence count rises: level 1 when ≤3 eggs, level 3 when ≤6, level 10 when ≤9, and level 20 when 10 eggs (at which point the permanent shield also applies). When Rift Essence count drops to 0, Ymir says “The blight made by the Worldbreaker is gone!” and all poison mists are removed. Keep clearing Rift Essence to reduce healing and open the arena.
Step 7 - Defeat Worldbreaker Bug
Defeat the Worldbreaker Bug to complete the instance. Ymir announces: “We have destroyed the Worldbreaker and avenged humanity from this universe!” Ymir’s Projection appears—talk to her to either stay and explore or choose Let’s go! to warp back to Aurelia (192, 153).

Chronocite Party Rewards

Rewards in this rift come from two layers:

  • Completion rewards (per character): party members online and on the instance map receive guaranteed Chronocites and get completion roll chances (Entropy Codex / Blacksmith Blessing).

  • Rift boss drops: while clearing mobs, Paradox Shards can drop via two independent rolls:

    • Bundle roll (5× Paradox Shard): 0.2% for the killer; 0.1% for other party members.
    • Single roll (1× Paradox Shard): 1% / 3% / 5% / 7.5% / 10% (Easy → Torment). On Torment, party sharing is enabled at 50% of the killer chance.

For the global reward rules that apply across all Pulse Rifts, see Rift Rewards.

Strategy Tips

Tips & Strategies
  • Assign one player as a dedicated egg-killer during the boss fight.
  • Avoid allowing the egg count to reach 10.
  • If your party has strong DPS, maintaining fewer than 4 eggs may be manageable.
  • If Worldbreaker Bug Clones (mob 30006) spawn, seek the Prime Blighted Egg to kill all three at once. The clones have high attack and will pursue anyone they aggro.
